Nepal Rastra Bank Issues Rs 25 Billion Bonds for Monetary Management

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued debt bonds worth Rs 25 billion with a one-year maturity to manage liquidity in the banking system. According to Ratopati, the ‘Nepal Rastra Bank Debt Bond 2084’ are being issued through an online bidding system and mature on Ashad 19, 2084.

Interest payments will be made semi-annually, with rates determined through competitive bidding. Only ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘C’ class financial institutions licensed by the NRB are eligible to participate, with a minimum bid requirement of Rs 50 million.

While these bonds cannot be used for the Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR), they are accepted as collateral and count toward the Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR) and Net Liquid Assets Ratio.
