According to myRepublica, Nepal and the United Kingdom have signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to enhance bilateral trade and investment. The agreements were finalized during the Nepal UK Economic Partnership Forum 2026, held in London under the theme “Promoting Nepal UK Economic Partnership through Trade, Investment, Technology and Outsourcing.”
The West London Chamber of Commerce signed with the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) and the Nepal Britain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NBCCI). These deals aim to strengthen business networks and cooperation between the private sectors of both nations.
Bipin Duwadi, Nepal’s Chargé d’Affaires in the UK, highlighted the growing economic momentum and invited British investment. Discussions regarding a double taxation avoidance agreement are also underway. Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal emphasized prioritizing sectors like hydropower, renewable energy, and tourism. British officials stressed viewing Nepal as an economic partner rather than just an aid recipient.
