Nepal’s government has secured funding for the strategic Korala road project, aiming to enhance connectivity with China. Physical Infrastructure Development Minister Sunil Lamsal confirmed during an inspection of the Kaligandaki Corridor that budget constraints will not delay the work.
According to Radio Nepal Online, Lamsal stated that funds are allocated for the Chhusang-Ghami section. The government plans to accelerate paving on the Ghami-Korala stretch leading to the border. All remaining contracts for bridges and roads are to be awarded within the current fiscal year.
The 200-kilometer Beni-Jomsom-Korala highway is a key trade corridor linking India and China through Nepal. Launched in 2017, its completion is vital for regional economic integration and cross-border commerce.
