The price of Maldaha mangoes in Madhesh Province has doubled due to decreased production, rising from 2.5 kg for Rs 100 to just 1 kg for Rs 100 over the last two weeks. Despite the market hike, farmers report dissatisfaction as they fail to receive fair prices. According to *The Rising Nepal*, Umesh Yadav, a farmer from Dhanusha, noted that farmers have not benefited from the price increase. The agricultural community is demanding cold storage, processing facilities, and effective market management. Dhaniklal Mahato from Mithila municipality explained that the absence of organized markets and cold storage forces farmers to sell quickly before the rice planting season begins, allowing traders to exploit the situation. Meanwhile, the Bombay variety has nearly vanished, and Maldaha mangoes are expected to be available for only about 10 more days before Kalkatta and Amrapali varieties arrive.
