The Ministry of Industry in Nepal is considering a proposal to reduce its workforce by 28% through the adoption of artificial intelligence and modern technology. According to The Rising Nepal, the Office of the Company Registrar suggested that a significant volume of administrative work could be managed faster with fewer employees using these tools.
Krishna Kumari Shrestha, the Company Registrar, emphasized that AI would significantly lower administrative burdens. An AI-based help center has already been established to address user complaints immediately. The system allows 24/7 access to company registration information and immediate PAN number integration with the Inland Revenue Office.
Gauri Kumari Yadav, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, inspected the registrar’s office and directed staff to ensure smooth service delivery while maximizing the use of new technologies.
