Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, currently attending the 19th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Uganda, engaged in discussions with Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe on Saturday.
Stressing the importance of unity in regional cooperation and shared non-aligned foreign policies, the leaders addressed bilateral concerns, including connectivity, tourism, and overall regional collaboration. Emphasizing the need for an active South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), Prime Minister Dahal urged Nepal and Sri Lanka to collaborate in enhancing its functionality.
President Wickremesinghe affirmed Sri Lanka’s commitment to revitalizing SAARC and highlighted the importance of cooperation between Nepal and Sri Lanka in regional and economic matters.
The meeting, attended by senior government officials, focused on addressing common interests through intergovernmental organizations. Prime Minister Dahal, leading a Nepali delegation, is scheduled to return home on January 21.
