Nepal welcomed 621,624 international visitors between January and June 2026, driven by sustained post-pandemic recovery. According to *The Rising Nepal*, data from the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) highlights strong regional demand.
In June alone, arrivals reached 91,363, a 19.5% increase from June 2025. This figure surpasses pre-pandemic levels by 22%, exceeding the 74,883 visitors recorded in June 2019.
India remains the largest source market, contributing nearly 46% of total arrivals in June. NTB Director Mani Raj Lamichhane noted that sustained promotional campaigns and external factors, such as currency tensions affecting travel to other destinations, have favored Nepal. The distribution reflects Nepal’s strengthened position as a key destination in South Asia.
