Nepal’s economy expanded by 3.51% in the third quarter of the fiscal year 2025-26, a decrease from the 4.05% recorded in the previous year. According to reports from IANS LIVE, preliminary data from the National Statistics Office indicates that 16 out of 18 sectors experienced growth. However, manufacturing and public administration contracted. The manufacturing sector faced challenges due to production bottlenecks and rising oil costs linked to global tensions, operating at just 42.11% capacity. Growth was primarily driven by electricity and gas, which surged by 24.88%, alongside financial and insurance activities. Agriculture, the largest contributor, grew modestly by 1.58%, while wholesale and retail trade also expanded.
